8th Grade Washington DC Trip Meeting

Attention 8th grade students attending this year’s Washington DC trip. We will be having a mandatory student and parent departure meeting Wednesday, October 2nd from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Twin Oak's large gym “Jerabek Hall”. If you are unable to attend please let Mr. Dapper know.

TOMS Conference Potluck

In appreciation for the extra time that TOMS teachers put in during conferences,  we are planning a potluck for Thurs. Oct. 10 to make their night a little easier. Please consider bringing a hearty appetizer, soup, salad or dessert. The teachers and staff will be very grateful!
You can drop off your items in the teacher's lounge/office before 2:00pm on Oct. 10 and pick up any containers after 7:00pm or on Friday. If your item is best served hot, please bring in crockpot/warming dish. (Please use disposable containers -- and disposable plastic liners for crockpots -- to minimize clean-up.)

SPAN October Meeting

SPAN (Synergy/SAGE Parent Action Network) is the Prior Lake/Savage chapter of Minnesota Council for the Gifted and Talented (www.mcgt.net ). Our first meeting will be on Monday October 7th  at 7pm in the WestWood Media Center and will focus on our plans for the year as well as welcome speaker Erin Boltik (Director of Gifted Programs and Services in the Bloomington School district) to talk about Gifted 101…What every parent of a gifted child should know.  In particular, Erin’s presentation is designed to help parents understand the needs of schools, affirm their position as an essential advocate for their child, and support everyone’s efforts to do what is best for a child/student.   Please email Apryl at span.priorlake@gmail.com  with questions and/or to be included on the SPAN email list, and see our website at www.mcgt.net/priorlake to see our complete meeting schedule.  We hope to see you at our October meeting!
