SPAN (Synergy/SAGE Parent Action Network) will host our next meeting on Thursday Feb. 11, 2016 at 7pm in the WestWood Elementary Media Center (5370 WestWood Dr. SE; Prior Lake, MN  55372).  The meeting will feature Michele Tindal, 5^th-grade SAGE teacher and former gifted specialist at the middle and high schools, who will speak about stress in gifted kids.   If you have questions or would like to be placed on our email list, please email Apryl at span.priorlake@gmail.com. Best In State Verizon Innovative App Challenge Winners!

Luke Nelson, Ty Sandell, Jayde Butler, Elizabeth Ginzburg, Lucas Warner, & Preston Mack

Congratulations to six Twin Oaks Advanced Science 6^th graders who have won Best in State in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge! That means their app concept is the best among all the middle school entries in Minnesota (over 1200 submissions!!).

Twin Oaks has won a $5,000 grant and tablets for all 6  team members! And it gets better—we are in the running for the App Challenge Fan Favorite award. To win, our concept needs to get the most votes.

Description of the App

What’s in My Food App provides a safety net for those with allergies when eating or traveling out. Simply download the app, scan the picture of the universal food icon located next to menu item (choose the language conversion if reading a foreign menu) and the app will tell you what the ingredients are, alerting you of anything you have told that app you are allergic too. 

Cancellation of Ski Club for January 11, 2016

Due to the cold temperature and Buck Hill taking advantage of the temps and will be making snow all day and all evening, we have decided to postpone ski club.

Our make-up date for this cancelled one will be Monday, February 8^th.

For ALL parents (elementary and middle school) with equipment in the trailers…..pick up will be at TWIN OAKS MIDDLE SCHOOL – lower level from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight (Monday).
