Soles4Souls is a non-profit global social enterprise
committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes
and clothing.
They believe in honest, accountable, and meaningful work.
Soles4Souls goals are creating jobs, serving those in need,
maintaining environmental sustainability and creating healthy communities.
Their goal is to eliminate extreme poverty by 2050.
Twin Oaks students will be collecting gently used pairs of
shoes during next week (May 9th through 13th.) There will be collection bins
for each grade and teachers outside of the guidance office. If a grade wins,
their primetimes will be entered into a contest for treats during primetime. If
teachers win, there will be treats in the staff lounge. If TOMS can collect
1,000 pairs of shoes - slightly more than one pair per student, we will have a
7th hour assembly with a lip-sync battle.
