Quick Guide
to the Parent Portal
Communicating with parents is important to us.
That’s why we use the following online tools to help us communicate student
progress and information on a day-to-day basis.
Located at the top of the website at www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us,
the Parent Portal contains quick links, all on one page, to the most frequently
needed sites for your student. The following is a breakdown of online tools
parents use on a regular basis.
Infinite Campus is
our Student Information System that houses bus stop schedules (available August

Schoology is our Learning
Management System (LMS) that serves as a communication tool for teachers,
students and parents. On Schoology, you will find classroom updates,
assignments, a calendar of events, study guides, quizzes/tests and interactive
discussions.
FeePay is where you register and pay
for activities, meals, Community Education classes, Kids’ Company, Circle of
Friends Preschool, field trips and more.

Friendly Exchange Program
Friendly Exchange is
looking for loving families who would be willing to open their hearts and homes
to an exchange student from Guatemala. The program is an 11 week program.
Students arrive September 23, 2016 and depart December 10, 2016. The exchange
students attend school with their host siblings.
At this point the
program only has boys left - in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. These kids will be
placed in homes with students of the same age and gender. The program’s purpose
is to promote peace and understanding by providing a cultural exchange
experience for the exchange students and their host families. This experience
will foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for other cultures, customs
and way of living.
The students fund
their own experience. All that is asked of host families is to provide room and
board, to accept and love the exchange student as one of their own, and offer
them some unique Minnesota activities. Many tremendous lifelong friendships have
been formed through this program.
If you would like to
consider this program please contact Heidi Preslicka 612-875-6630. heidi@preslickastudio.com. She and
her family have hosted 5 times.

Health Office News
Annual
Health/Emergency Contact Forms
Annual Health/Emergency Contact forms were mailed out the
end of the 2015-16 school year. Please
complete and return those to the school your student will be attending (attention
Health Office). They need to be turned
in prior to schedule pick-up at the Back to School Night this fall.
Immunizations
Prior
Lake-Savage Area Schools adhere to a “No Shot No School” policy. This means that incoming 7th
graders must meet the state immunization requirements prior to schedule pick-up
at the Back to School Night this fall.
These requirements can be waived due to medical exemption or
conscientious objection to a particular immunization. Visit the district website and click on
Health Services, immunizations, state immunization requirements, for more
information and copies of downloadable forms for recording shot records and for
waivers. You can also
visit http://www.health.state.mn.us/immunize
for more information regarding immunizations.
Scott County (952-496-8552) offers immunizations clinics as
an affordable option for those families who may not have health coverage. There is a suggested $10.00 donation per
immunization. No one will be refused if
unable to pay.
Have a safe, fun summer and we will see
you this fall!
