SPAN is the Synergy/SAGE Parent Action Network. We are also known as the Prior Lake-Savage
Chapter of the MN Council for the Gifted and Talented. Our mission is to support and advocate for
academically advanced students, their parents, and their educators. SPAN hosts meetings featuring speakers and
specific discussion topics throughout the school year. October will be a busy month for us: our first
meeting will take place on Monday October 5 at 7pm in the WestWood Media
Center, featuring Anne Tyler speaking on mindset as it relates to gifted
children; the 5th annual
Synergy Family night will take place on Th. Oct. 22 at 6:30pm at PLHS; and on
Monday Oct. 26 at 6:30pm in the Twin Oaks auditorium, we will host speaker
Tammie Stewart from Northwestern University’s Center for Talent
Development (CTD), who will talk and answer questions about above-level
standardized testing (NUMATS) and classes offered through CTD. If you have questions or would like to be
