Honor Band Tour and PLHS Fall Football

Twin Oaks/Hidden Oaks Honor Band Completes Successful Tour

Over spring break 51 students from the TO/HO 7-8 Honor Band were led on a tour to Chicago by Prior Lake Middle School Band Directors Mr. Brian Melody and Mr. Dagan Hanson. The students were wonderful ambassadors as they enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a quality musical experience, take in cultural experiences, and represent the Prior Lake-Savage music program in another state.
Tour Highlights and Educational Experiences included:
  • Rehearsed with Dr. Erica Neidlinger from DePaul School of Music at Miles North HS
  • Visited Navy Pier and the "Magnificent Mile" in Downtown Chicago
  • Toured the Sky Deck at Willis (Sears) Tower
  • Performed at and toured the Field Museum of Natural History
  • Attended a performance of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
  • Spent a memorable evening at Medieval Times
  • Enjoyed authentic Chicago cuisine including deep dish pizza at Gino's East and the Hard Rock Cafe.
A special thank you goes out to tour chaperones Ben Ficklin (TO 8th Gr. Science), and Monique Rupp (Elem. Music teacher & parent) for doing a wonderful job with the students, as well.
